Dance Dance Revalution

You don't normally hear the words "video game" in the same sentence with "exercise" unless it's "Stop playing video games and get some exercise!" But now there are actually video games that count as exercise too.

Dance Dance Revolution is a dancing game that requires dance pads in place of the normal controllers. It even has a exercise mode. You might think at first that this is just a marketing gimmick, but you really can work up a sweat dancing with this game. Twenty minutes of continuous dancing and you can feel like you got a real workout. You just have to find out what speed is good for you.

And for many people, this is more fun that jogging or walking on a treadmill. This can work even for people who don't like video games. There are several other game like DDR to suit different tastes.

Granted, it's not cheap to the buy the game and the dance pads, but it's cheaper than buying a good piece of exercise equipment.
