Benefits of Excercising

There have been countless fads over the years that claim to be good for your health, but excercise has always been good for you and always will be. Excercise is one of the keys to a healthy and happy life.

For starters, cardiovascular excercise like running, biking, or even walking (moderately fast) help keep your heart and lungs healthy. It keeps your heart strong, which is important since you need it to keep pumping blood through your body for decades without a break. And by increasing your lung capacity, you're increasing the amount of oxygen you can get into your blood with each breath.

Cardio excercise also help work off stress. Stress continues to become more and more of a health problem and excercise is one of the very best ways to keep those bad stress chemicals from poisoning your body.

Strength excercises, like using weights or weight machines, keep your muscles strong enough that normal activities don't tax them too much. The stronger your muscles are, the easier it is on your body every time you have to lift something or move something (including yourself).

Excercise also burns fat, and obesity has become a major problem in industrialized countries (especially the US). Obesity can lead to all kinds of problems, so you want to keep excess fat off.
